Individualised Music Lessons for Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS Participants
At SthSide Project, we believe music can be a meaningful way to learn, develop skills, express yourself and build confidence.
Driven by passion
SthSide Project offers individualised NDIS piano lessons and NDIS singing lessons in Melbourne for children and young people using self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding.
Our piano and singing lessons are tailored to each student's strengths, interests, learning style and personal goals. Whether a student is learning their first notes on the piano, developing their singing voice or building confidence through music, we aim to create a positive, supportive and encouraging learning experience.
If you are looking for NDIS music lessons in Melbourne, SthSide Project offers personalised one-to-one tuition designed around the individual. Our lessons can be adapted to suit different learning styles, musical interests and goals.
Currently welcoming self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants
SthSide Project is currently an unregistered NDIS provider. We welcome enquiries from participants with:
Self-managed NDIS funding
Plan-managed NDIS funding
At this stage, we are unable to provide services to participants using NDIA-managed funding, as providers must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver supports funded through NDIA-managed plans.
Self-managed and plan-managed participants can generally choose either registered or unregistered providers, depending on their individual funding arrangements and the support being purchased.

How music lessons may support individual goals
Music lessons are educational and skill-based services. Depending on the individual and their NDIS goals, individualised lessons may support areas such as:
Confidence and Self-Esteem
Learning and developing new skills can help students experience a sense of achievement and build confidence over time.
Communication and Self-Expression
Music and singing can provide opportunities for students to communicate, make choices and express themselves creatively.
Skill Development
Students can work progressively towards developing musical knowledge and practical skills at a pace appropriate to them.
Independence
Lessons can encourage students to make choices, follow routines and gradually take greater ownership of their learning.
Participation
Music can provide opportunities to engage in meaningful activities based on an individual's interests and goals.
Social Connection
Where appropriate, future small group or shared music opportunities may provide opportunities for interaction and participation with others.
Please note: Whether NDIS funding can be used for a particular service depends on the participant's individual plan, available funding and whether the support meets NDIS requirements. Participants are responsible for ensuring that the supports they purchase are in line with their plan and funding.
Our Approach
At SthSide Project, we recognise that there is no single approach that works for every learner.
We take the time to understand each student's:
Interests and musical preferences
Current skills and experience
Learning style
Strengths
Personal goals
Preferred pace of learning
Lessons can be structured and progressive, flexible and interest-led, or a combination of both.
Our aim is to create a welcoming learning environment where students can enjoy music while developing skills at their own pace.
